As I entered high school 3 years ago all I wanted to do was graduate. Now that I think about it I wish graduation was not around the corner. My whole life has had its high ups and low downs, but it seems as though I've gotten through it and learned from it so I can be ready for any obstacle life can throw at me during the rest of my life.
I am Anayh Acevedo and I am the third child out of four of the children my parents have together. My oldest sibling is my brother who is 25 and lives in a different town with his fiance and 3 little girls they have. My older sister is 22 and lives at home while she finishes her nursing program course, and then my youngest brother of 5 who obviously lives at home as well. As you can tell there is huge age gaps between us as siblings but we seem to do fine about it and I think it's actually a good thing because we can learn new things from each other everyday. My little brother was actually adopted by my family when he turned 2 years old. We knew ever since we met him that he belonged with our family. My mom Albina Acevedo is a hard working stay at home mom who helps everyone in our family in anything that we need. My dad Raul Acevedo is a man who has worked every single day of his life since he was 16 to make sure his kids could have a future that he never got to have. My parents have always put our needs before their own which make me respect them even more as a person because of their qualities of being selfless. My family has definitely pushed me to get the best grades and excel in sports and clubs these past years in high school and I know without their motivation I wouldn't be as successful in my high school career as I am now.
For my future I plan on either having something to do with law, law enforcement, or social working. I did not specifically choose these as the areas of work I want to go into as much as they chose me in a way. For a long time now since I was probably around 9 I knew I wanted to be in Law or law enforcement. This really caught my attention as a job I would want to be into because of what I went through around that age. I had lost my closest and best friend since we were literally born (only 11 days apart) due to a car accident caused by a drunk driver. I really want to go into this field so that I can make a difference in people who decide to drive drunk because it has deadly consequences. Social working is also a field I would be interested in because I would enjoy helping the children who are in foster care. This field really has a different meaning than it might to other people because I have experienced first-hand how the system works. My family fostered about 27 kids including my little brother whom we adopted. Almost every single kid that has gone through the system and stayed in our home has kept in touch and called our home the best foster home and family they've had. Making differences in people's life is what I wanna do for the rest of my life. I think these fields could really help me give my full potential of giving.
Although the past three years have somewhat been a flown by for me I'm able to recall the important moments which have helped me become successful in my high school career. With all the support that I have I could not be anymore thankful for those who have stuck by my side through thick and thin. Every single person has made an impact in my life. If it was for the better or worse they all helped me learn new things about the different people in the world. They helped me realize the world isn't full of just flowers but of snakes too.
